One persons junk is another persons treasure!

I LOVE garage saling(is that a word?)  But what I love more is taking the unique "junk" I find and turning it into something beautiful!  Last summer I found my daughters an adorable, in near perfect condition(had a splotch of paint missing) white vanity for $5!  Crazy deal, I thought!  Then I needed to find a chair to go with it.  I've been looking ever since, so when I saw this chair for $1, I knew it was perfect!
Ugly... YES!  But a little spray paint and new fabric and
VOILA!!!
Beautiful and new!

And here is the vanity and chair set together!

So for less than $10, I have a beautiful keepsake vanity set for my daughters!  So excited!  And Kiala loves it!

Project 52 ~ 1 project a week for a year...

In looking at all of the things around my house I need to or want to get done, I realized I need a plan!  I love projects, love expressing myself creatively.  Crafting, decorating, sewing, painting... just about anything that I am able to create!  These things are a part of who I am... I think I express who I am by creating.  Which is where La Pixie Dust Boutique came from.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/LaPixieDustBoutique
So, with that being said... I have been putting so many projects off for a really long time!  I decided that in order to get my house to where I want it, in order to get things done that have been hanging over my head (such as painting my bedroom), and in order to make sure I am creatively expressing myself (to keep me sane), I will begin this week, "Project 52".
So, without further ado... here's my first project.  This one is a simple one but based on my other commitments this week, that's just the way it goes!

Paint this chair GREEN!!!  See, told you it was simple.  Its my sewing chair.  The plan is to use it for extra seating, in my craft room or something like that.  Maybe if I get really ambitious, I will make a cushion as well.  But we'll see.  I'll post pics when I'm finished with it in a few days.

A look at "us" through the years... for my husband on Valentines Day (reposted for our 8th Anniversary)

Our very first Christmas as a married couple!  And only our second Christmas together.  I knew after dating you for two weeks that I loved you and was going to marry you!  I know you felt the same.  Getting engaged after only a few months together was a step of faith and I'm sure some thought we were crazy!  I am so glad we took that step!  This was the beginning of something wonderful!
Family vacation in Florida.  Married about 7 months.  We have come a long way since then for sure!

I love you Justin!  Happy Valentines Day!
